- Gold holdings in the SPDR Gold Trust, the biggest exchange-trades fund backed by bullion, rose to a record, according to figures on the company’s Web site. The fund held 1,127.68 metric tons of bullion as of April 9, up from 1,127.37 tons a day earlier. The trust is the world’s sixth-largest stockpile of the precious metal, behind
