- Here's what happened (per JPM): The key question throughout the call was why the stock continued to fade, at one point being up only ~2% from close. The after-market is of course fickle, but this was a big move. I initially blamed LBT saying they’re ramping 14A “for internal products” (versus past filings saying they would only continue the 14A buildout with external customer commitments); but overwhelmingly investors said that the node sounds good/demand will be there, and they instead blamed the formal disclosure that the team is open to issuing new equity. Others were also frustrated that they guided for capex “across all of our business units” rather than just foundry, complaining that INTC is less competitive in agentic and/or they are simply less excited about CPUs (and also they have too much consumer CPU exposure); these folks would prefer the team focused on foundry.

- Israel expected Trump to bomb Iran last night, then he let Tehran off the hook. Israel spent yesterday braced for the big American strike, expecting it overnight. Then Jerusalem realized Trump was pulling back and giving Tehran one more chance. Qatar and Oman had leaned on Iran hard to bend before an almost-certain attack. For the first time in 13 nights, the U.S. reported no strikes. One Israeli source described it this way: Trump doesn't want to attack, he's edging toward it only because he feels out of options. - BREAKING: Ukraine has struck the Antipinsky Oil Refinery in Tyumen, Russia with drones today, damaging Russia's largest privately owned oil refinery in one of Ukraine's deepest strikes at 2,000 km from the front. The Antipinsky Refinery has a capacity of ~160,000 barrels per day and is the only industrial oil refinery operating in Russia's Ural Federal District, supplying Euro-5 diesel and gasoline to the broader Urals/West Siberia region. - Houthis launch missile salvo against Saudi oil facilities. Saudi Arabia struck a Yemeni port area yesterday. The outcome was entirely predictable: Houthi forces responded not with a single missile, but with a salvo of at least five ballistic missiles against the Aramco complex in Jazan, on Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast, followed by another wave of missiles and drones targeting the Khamis Mushait military base. In a statement, Yemeni forces called on workers at Saudi ports to evacuate immediately. The declared targets include the ports of Jeddah, King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, King Abdullah Port, King Fahd Industrial Port, Yanbu Commercial Port, as well as Aramco facilities and refineries.
